Whether you’re curious about our fruit varieties, growing practices, visiting hours, or anything else related to our orchard, you’re in the right place.   • How big is the orchard?
    Munster Orchard is a 10 acre orchard. Not too big but not too small either. We do recommend wearing comfortable shoes due to the terrain. The rows can be long and there are some hills.
  • How many apple trees do you have?
    We have over 1,500 apple trees. We continue to grow new apple trees every year! In 2024, we just planted 400 apple trees.
  • How many varieties do have?
    We have over 75+ varieties. We have sweet apples to tart apples from anything in between. We even have quite of bit of trees for hard cider enthusiasts! On the picking schedule tab, you’ll be able to find our most popular trees for picking but if there’s a particular variety you are looking for, call us and we can let you know if we have that particular tree.
  • How do I know if a tree is ready to be picked?
    The tree will be marked with a white tag. If the tree has a white tag, it means it’s ready to be picked!
  • What’s your apple tree management plan?
    We follow strict and certain guidelines and spray minimal in the the apple’s growing season.
  • How long should I plan to pick apples?
    It depends but we recommend to give yourself at least an hour to explore the grounds and check out all the apple varieties.
  • What do I do when I arrive?
    We ask that you check in with a staff member at the apple barn when you arrive. We’ll be able to give update on the current trees that can be picked, give you guidance on the best way to explore the orchard, and answer any questions you might have. Once you are done picking, you can bring in your apples and other items to apple barn to be checked out.
  • Can I come to orchard and just walk around?
    Absolutely! We welcome you to come to our orchard and check us out with no strings attached! Feel free to visit us during normal business hours anytime!
  • Should I bring my own bag to pick the apples?
    We do provide plastic bags for convenience but you are more than welcome to bring in your own bag that will be best for you to pick your apples.
  • Can I bring my own wagon?
    Yes! We have no restrictions on wagons, strollers, etc. We want the experience to be most enjoyable and comfortable for you and your kiddos!
  • Can I try an apple before I put in in my bag?
    Absolutely! We actually encourage it! We want you to be satisfied with your apple choice before you commit to it! With so many varieties, we understand it’s hard to know what you like or don’t. We just ask that you please be respectable and not waste the fruit! We work hard to keep our costs as low as possible and do not charge an admission fee unlike many orchards. We’d like to keep it this way.
  • What types of payment due you accept?
    We accept cash, credit, and electronic pay.
  • Do you have any concessions?
    We have water, soda, and a few dry snacks. We recommend to picnic at the orchard or visit one of the many great restaurants in the area!
  • Do you charge any fees? Admission? Parking?
    We do not charge any fees! There are no hidden fees any where! No admission costs, or fee to park, etc. When it’s busy, parking might be a challenge but don’t worry, our staff will help direct you to the next available parking spot!
  • How should I store my apples?
    We recommend to store your apples in the refrigerator to help them last longer!
  • Can I go pumpkin picking in the pumpkin fields?
    Absolutely! If you see an open sign by the pumpkin field, feel free to explore in the pumpkin patch to find your perfect pumpkin.
  • What type of pumpkins do you have?
    We have several different type of pie pumpkins and medium to large size pumpkins!
